We care about church membership because we care about God's word and his people. The New Testament teaches that to be joined to Christ through faith is to be joined to other believers (Rom. 12:5). Church membership does not constitute this union but reflects it. Formal membership allows individual believers to identify with a local body of faithful Christ followers who commit to love, encourage, serve, and protect one another out of reverence for Christ (Eph. 5:21).
As Baptists, we accept candidates for membership upon their personal profession of faith in Christ and completion of our membership process. This process includes membership interviews with the leadership of our church and membership orientation, as well as public baptism for those who have not previously been baptized. Whether you are already a baptized believer seeking a place to serve or you simply want to know more about First Baptist Eclectic, we invite you to contact us.
