In the beginning, God created mankind to enjoy perfect relationship with himself. We were meant to reflect the very image and likeness of our Creator (Gen. 1:26-27), but instead we chose to project our own image (Gen. 3:1-8, Rom. 3:23). Because of our desire to make much of ourselves, we have all rebelled against God, and our relationship with him is broken (Gen. 3:23-24). We feel this brokenness everyday of our lives. But there is good news.

From the beginning, God had a plan to send a perfect substitute who would reconcile us back to himself (Isa. 53:10-11; Acts 2:23-24; 1 Peter 3:18). This substitute is Jesus Christ. He lived the life that we should have lived and died the death that we deserved to die because of our sin. He was raised from the dead to prove that he is the only LORD and Savior of all who trust in him for the forgiveness of their sin (Isa. 43:11; Phil. 2:5-11). Jesus Christ took your death so that you could have perfect life with him forever. Jesus alone is the One who makes us right with God and satisfies the deepest longings of our souls (Rom. 3:23-26; Rev.21:6-7).
